Saturdays, Sun, and Sweet Romance
Today I did something wild. I sat still. On purpose. In the sun. With a book.
Now, before you call the local wellness hotline, let me explain. It was Saturday. The weather was warm. The birds were chirping like they were auditioning for a Disney remake, and I had a glass of icy lemonade in one hand and a romance novel in the other. It felt illegal. Like I was skipping class at the School of Grown Woman Responsibilities.
But you know what? I needed it.
Between teaching personal development, leading my Prayer Circle, dreaming up TikTok videos, and making sure I don't burn dinner while manifesting joy—sometimes a girl just needs a love story that’s not her own. And maybe a hunky cowboy who says things like, “You ain’t ridin’ off into the sunset without me, darlin’.”
Oh, but let’s not forget the real magic: journaling. After soaking up all that sunshine (and a little fictional smooching), I opened my journal and wrote about me. My dreams. My journey. My joy. That romance novel reminded me to fall in love with my own story again.
So here’s my tip for you: grab a pen, a pretty notebook, and write about the life you want. No edits. No filter. Just you, sweet tea (or lemonade), and a few dreams dancing on the page.
Because whether you're the heroine in a romance novel or the lead in your own life story, you deserve to be heard. And written about.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a cowboy waiting in Chapter Twelve who just might propose…
