It Was God Who Carried Me
Some of you may know that in March, I lost my youngest son; since then, I have lost three more family members and two close friends. I admit it has caused me to fall short in some of my social media obligations and other areas in my life. But I am still moving forward.
When I look back over my life, I can remember times when I was not sure I would survive. There were losses that changed me, heartbreak that left unanswered questions, and days when simply getting through the day required more strength than I believed I had.
For a long time, I thought I survived because I was strong. Now I understand the truth. I didn’t make it through those difficult times on my own. God carried me.
His grace reached me when my strength was gone. His presence remained when I felt alone. He protected me from dangers I recognized and from situations I never knew existed.
The Bible says:
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
This verse reminds me that weakness is not proof that my faith has failed. It is often the place where God’s strength becomes most evident. I didn’t have to hold everything together because God was holding me.
Faith doesn’t mean life will always be easy. It means we are never left to face hardship without God. His peace can meet us in the middle of grief. His wisdom guides us through uncertainty, and His grace sustains us until we have the courage to take the next step.
Perhaps you are facing a time that feels heavier than you expected. You might be wondering how much more you can carry. Please remember that you are not depending on your strength alone. God is present, even when you can’t recognize what He is doing.
When you look back, you may discover that the moments meant to break you became the places where God showed you His faithfulness.
I am still standing; it wasn’t because every situation turned out the way I wanted, but because God never abandoned me. I thank Him for the grace I understood, the protection I never noticed, and the strength He provided when mine was gone.
Today, take a moment to remember one difficult time when God brought you through. What did that experience teach you about His faithfulness?
