Stories from the Road: Finding Joy in the Journey
There’s something deeply peaceful about a smooth drive on an open road. My recent trip to Fontana(an 8-hour drive) was a gift of calm, beauty, and reflection. The drive there and back was effortless, as though the Lord Himself had gone before me, clearing the path.
As I admired the rolling scenery, my storyteller’s mind began to wander. I made up stories about the people in the cars I passed. One driver might have been heading toward a long-awaited reunion, another chasing a dream, and someone else perhaps driving just to clear their mind. Each car held a mystery, a journey, and a purpose.
Somewhere between the highways and the hills, I realized that we’re all moving through different chapters of our lives. Some days, we’re racing toward something new. Other days, we’re just learning to enjoy the view.
Inviting gratitude into those in-between moments makes even an ordinary drive extraordinary. God speaks softly through the rhythm of the tires, the hum of the road, and the stories our hearts create when we slow down long enough to listen.
So today, I’m grateful for safe travels, inspiration on the road, and every unseen story unfolding beside me.
