A Story That Wouldn’t Let Me Go
Sometimes a story grabs your heart and won’t let go until you tell it, The Protector’s Secret Baby is one of those stories.
I’ve been working on this book quietly behind the scenes, pouring my heart into every page. Right now, it’s with a few trusted eyes for proofreading and edits, but I couldn’t wait any longer to share just a little peek. This story has love, betrayal, suspense, and the kind of redemption that makes you catch your breath.
It’s about Zariah, a woman who’s survived more than most and carries a powerful secret. And Jake, the man who once protected her, never stopped loving her, and doesn’t yet know that he’s a father.
Here’s a short snippet from one of my favorite scenes:
“He’s got your eyes,” she whispered, her arms tightening protectively around the little boy.
Jake’s voice caught in his throat. “Zariah... why didn’t you tell me?”
She looked away, tears threatening. “Because I was afraid. Of what you'd say. Of what it would mean. And because once I left... I didn’t know how to come back.”
Whew. That moment still makes my heart ache, and I wrote it!
What I love most about this story is how it explores healing after betrayal, the risks we take for love, and how even secrets can’t bury the truth for long. These characters are flawed, fierce, and full of fire.
There’s still work to do, but I’m trusting the process. And I’m grateful for every reader, friend, and writing circle member who’s encouraged me to keep writing stories that reflect real emotions, raw moments, and resilient love.
If you enjoy romantic suspense with heart, hold tight, The Protector’s Secret Baby is coming soon.
