Books, Writing, and a Little Rest

Saturdays are my sacred days. They’re my time to reset, refocus, and, let’s be honest, get lost in a good book. Today was no different. I started my morning curled up in my favorite chair, a cup of coffee in hand, digging into a book that’s been calling my name all week. There’s something magical about letting a story whisk me away, even if only for an hour or two.

Of course, as much as I love reading, my own words were waiting to be written. I shifted from book-lover mode to writer mode, letting ideas spill onto the page. I’ve been working on my next summit, and excitement is bubbling over. There’s nothing quite like planning an event that brings people together, encourages transformation, and sparks powerful conversations. It takes work—brainstorming topics, reaching out to speakers, and structuring sessions—but it’s the kind of work that fuels me.

Somewhere in between all of this, I reminded myself to rest. I know how easy it is to keep pushing forward, checking off tasks, and feeling accomplished, but rest is just as important. So, I stretched out on the couch, closed my eyes for a bit, and let myself breathe. A little rest goes a long way, and I woke up feeling refreshed, ready to tackle the rest of my day.

And now, here I am, ending my Saturday by writing this blog post. There’s something satisfying about reflecting on a day well spent, a day filled with the things I love—books, writing, planning, and a little bit of self-care.

Saturdays like this remind me why I do what I do. They keep me grounded, inspired, and ready for whatever comes next.
